Active Brake Assist 6

One of the smartest, most capable crash prevention system ever fitted to a Japanese truck – ABA6 improves on ABA5 with greater precision and faster response. It combines a wider-angle radar and high-resolution camera to detect moving and stationary hazards across multiple lanes, including cyclists and pedestrians approaching from the sides– even through bends. It reacts earlier, with greater accuracy and automatically applies braking if needed.

 

Active Sideguard Assist 2

Provides enhanced protection in busy environments. It uses radar mounted on both sides of the truck to monitor cyclists, pedestrians and vehicles on left and right lane-change blind spots. If it detects a collision risk during a left turn at low speed and the driver doesn’t respond after visual and audio warnings, it automatically applies the brakes.

 

Front Blind Spot Information System

Smart sensors monitor the space directly in front of the cab and warn the driver if anything is detected – especially useful in busy urban environments and at the depot.

 

Trailer Stability Assist (TSA)

Trailer Stability Assist monitors vehicle speed, steering angle, accelerator and brake pedal stroke, plus estimated vehicle mass and trailer brake temperature, to automatically apply the trailer brakes if the service brake and accelerator pedals are not sufficiently depressed while cornering – thus mitigating the possibility of jackknifing.

 

Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) with Trailer Brake

Shogun is the only Japanese truck with an Electric Parking Brake, providing an additional level of safety alongside ease and comfort of operation. If the driver forgets to engage the simple EPB switch and lever, it will automatically engage to prevent the truck from rolling away. The trailer brake is also integrated into the EPB.

The 2025 Shogun range delivers more power, more choice and more capability across every application – from metro delivery to heavy haulage. Designed for New Zealand roads and built on Daimler’s proven platform, each model reflects the same commitment to comfort, performance, safety and long-term efficiency.

 

With power ratings from 354ps to 530ps and a GCM range from 36-70T, the line-up includes tractor, tipper and freight options with a mix of 4x2, 6x2, 6x4 and 8x4 configurations – offering operators the flexibility to match almost any task, terrain and load.

 

At the top end, 13-litre variants bring commanding torque and power, supported by a hefty 570ps engine brake, refined ShiftPilot 12-speed AMT and aerodynamic upgrades that improve both drivability and fuel economy.

 

For linehaul operators, the new FV2653K Tractor spec offers up to a 1,000kg kerb weight advantage over direct competitors.

 

A new 360 tipper model answers demand for a lightweight, high-payload fleet truck (45T GCM) with easy cab access.
