Extended operations under Level 3

Safety remains top priority as sales, parts and service teams work to support more customers as restrictions ease

New CEO Aaron Smith said Keith Andrews (KAT) is well-prepared to operate safely and effectively as the country moves into Level 3, with the same robust systems and strict protocols already established for Level 4.

For the past four weeks, KAT has been operating with reduced staff numbers to provide servicing, repair, parts supply and vehicle sales to Level 4 Essential Services.

“We welcome the news that the country is moving into Level 3,” said Smith. “While the safety of our customers and staff remains our number one priority, the whole Keith Andrews team is looking forward to supporting more of our customers’ businesses as restrictions ease.

“We are ready to go, and all staff understand the importance of following strict procedures to protect the health and safety of everyone in our communities.

“We would like to thank all our customers for their understanding of these measures. By working together, we can ensure we all move safely and with confidence through Level 3 and on to a further easing of lockdown restrictions.”

What changes under Level 3?

From 7am on Tuesday, 28 April, KAT dealerships in Auckland, Whangarei and Hamilton will be open for servicing, repair and parts sales to all businesses able to operate at Level 3, closely following Ministry of Health guidelines.

The sales team will continue to work from home – by phone or online. Please find all sales team phone numbers listed at the end of this update. 

All onsite interactions and transactions, including workshop, parts and new vehicle handover, will continue to follow stringent contactless procedures (detailed below).

During Level 3, KAT business sites will not be accessible to the public other than to drop-off and/or collect vehicles, or for pre-arranged parts collection.

Any person who has an interaction with a KAT staff member onsite will be required to provide contact tracing details, so they can be notified in the advent of a Covid-19 related event.

Service and repairs during Level 3

Service and repair bookings are available by appointment only during our standard business hours:

7am – 5pm Monday to Friday
7am – 12pm Saturday

Our 24hr call-out service (0800 487 8257) is also still running.

Vehicle drop-off/collection procedures under Level 3:

  • If you do not have a booking, we will not be able to receive your vehicle – please call in advance.
  • When you arrive onsite, please leave your keys in the cab – you will be greeted by a service advisor at 2m distance on the forecourt.
  • In line with MoH guidelines, the service advisor will need you to provide contact tracing details, so you can be notified in the advent of a Covid-19 related event.
  • Once you’ve exited the cab, we are unable to provide waiting facilities. For more general health and safety purposes, non-staff are required to leave site while their vehicle is being worked on.
  • Our staff, wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), will disinfect at-risk touch points on your vehicle in line with guidance from the Ministry of Health (MoH).
  • Medical response and other critical care vehicles will be dealt with in accordance with operators’ guidelines and requirements.
  • Technicians working on your vehicle will wear PPE in accordance with MoH guidelines.
  • When work on your vehicle is complete, at-risk touch points will again be disinfected and you will be contacted to come and collect it.

Parts sales during Level 3

Parts will be available for purchase by account, direct credit or credit card only. There will be no access to our premises for these transactions. We can arrange either courier delivery or an external collection point at the dealership.

Vehicle sales and delivery during Level 3

Our sales teams will continue to operate from home. All have access to the information required to spec and price vehicles.

The vehicle logistics teams will be performing new vehicle handovers following the procedures outlined for vehicle service and repair.
